Prince Bernhard of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven is a first cousin of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. He is notorious because his company seems to own more than 600 houses in Amsterdam. He says it is an investment for his pension provision. The socialist party (PvdA) wants to introduce a tax against slumlords, and calls it the ‘Prince Bernhard’-tax.
